When a change in your life leaves you reconsidering more than you expected.
THERAPY FOR LIFE TRANSITIONS & ADJUSTMENT
A new role, relationship, or set of circumstances can change your priorities, routines, and sense of yourself. Work through difficult decisions, conflicting feelings, new responsibilities, and uncertainty about what comes next.
Approach
We’ll start with what needs attention now: sorting through decisions, managing competing demands, preparing difficult conversations, and developing practical ways to adjust to your changing circumstances.
But a sensible plan can be difficult to follow when change brings guilt, grief, conflicting loyalties, or expectations about who you’re supposed to be. We explore what gives these reactions their force, so you can make choices with greater confidence, adapt to new circumstances, and approach future changes with more trust in yourself.
Questions about this work.
BEFORE WE BEGIN
-
Even welcome changes can involve unexpected losses, conflicting feelings, or difficulty adjusting to a new identity. We can make sense of those reactions without questioning your decision.
-
You don’t need to arrive with a plan. We’ll examine what’s important to you now, what may no longer fit, and what is making the next decision difficult.
-
Therapy cannot choose for you, but we can clarify the conflict, identify what keeps resetting the decision, and help you use your own judgment more fully.
START WITH A FULL SESSION
When your life changes, the expectations you’ve lived by may no longer fit. I’ll help you recognize which ones are holding you back and make choices that reflect the life you have now or the one you want to create.
