ONE FOCUSED SESSION
One situation. One question. One hour devoted to it.
You need to make a decision. A relationship changed. A conversation went badly. Something happened and you keep replaying it. You’re going on a date and feel nervous. You’re waiting for a text and it is activating you. You’re visiting family and dreading it. You know there is something you need to say and cannot decide how to say it.
Bring that.
This service is not for emergencies or crisis intervention.
A FOCUSED ENTRY POINT
This option is specific by design.
We agree on the central question at the beginning and decide what the session needs to answer.
Then work on that.
This is for situations like a breakup or rupture you can’t stop replaying, something emotionally activating, a situation that has you thinking in circles and wanting another perspective now rather than three weeks from now.
The goal is to leave with a clearer understanding of the situation and what you want to do next.
01
A decision
Clarify what each option asks you to accept, give up, or risk; slow the mental loop; identify the urgency.
02
A conversation
Identify the central message and prepare for the response you are most likely to manage around.
03
A reaction
Understand why the situation has so much force and what would need to change for a different outcome.
04
A transition
Make sense of a change, loss, or disruption without turning it into a verdict on the future.

Questions about this service.
BEFORE YOU SCHEDULE
-
No. The session is intentionally focused on one immediate situation or question.
-
We can discuss that. Scheduling one focused session neither commits you to ongoing therapy nor prevents you from considering it later.
-
No. Choose an Initial Session if you are considering ongoing psychotherapy. Choose a One Focused session when you want the appointment organized around one specific immediate situation that can not wait for a longer process. We will discuss what brings you in at the start of the session and take it from there.
-
Yes. Using insurance (in network or out of network benefits) may reduce what you pay, but it will require a diagnosis.
-
Yes. I regularly work with adults whose professional, public or family circumstances make discretion particularly important. My practice is structured with that in mind, including secure virtual sessions and direct scheduling.
